Gals on the Go Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has been offering prevention and resiliency building workshops for adolescents since 2017, is proud to announce their new name that better represents the community they serve. GALS stands for Growing Adolescent Life Skills – which remains the goal of the organization. Thrive Together, the new name of the nonprofit organization, provides workshops and programs for young boys and girls aged 5-13 in the community along with providing resources and support to schools districts and businesses in Waukesha county and beyond.
The organization has had a far-reaching impact on the community supporting Scout Troops, school groups, and the community with their interactive and engaging workshops, reaching over 10,000 families since opening their doors. This past year, Gals on the Go Project has expanded, hiring additional staff members and moving into a new location to meet the increased demand for mental health support in youth and families.
“Our hope is that a child will gain a better understanding of their unique self and develop healthy ways to enhance their self-esteem.” Deanna Marincic, President/Founder
Gals on the Go Project (now Thrive Together) was recognized for their outstanding service in 2025 by receiving both the Oconomowoc Area Chamber of Commerce ‘Non-Profit of the Year Award’ and Founder Deanna Marincic being recognized as a ‘Woman of Distinction’ by the Women and Girls Fund.
While Gals on the Go Project grew, the name appeared exclusive to only girls. With the new name, Thrive Together, they can better serve all youth in the community, including both boys and girls. Thrive Together will be hosting multiple community workshops at their new location at 450 N. Wales Rd. Wales, WI. The workshops are interactive and focus on topics such as healthy relationships, resiliency building, effective coping strategies, confidence boosting, anxiety, empathy building and many others. The content of the workshop is created by a licensed clinical team, and the activities are tailored to be appropriate for each age group. Thrive Together will be hosting workshops starting in April, including Frenemies 101, Beauty Inside & Out, Calm. Cool. Capable., DIY Craft Day, Social Skills for Success, and more!
Thrive Together (formerly Gals on the Go Project) is a non-profit organization offering youth in the community workshops to learn prevention and resiliency building skills. Annually, more than 1,000 families are impacted by the workshops that are provided through Scout Troops, schools, and community events. Topics of the interactive workshops include healthy relationships, effective coping strategies, boosting confidence, calming anxiety, and more.
